Friday, April 5, 1901: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Chattanooga Daily Times reported news with a dateline from Johnson City and a date of April 4. Readers learned that “The sub-committee to investigate sites for the location of a soldiers’ home at Johnson City completed its work yesterday. The committee will report to the full board of managers of the National Soldiers’ Home, under which it is serving, and on April 14, the general board will visit the place and finally decide upon the location.”
