Wednesday, November 1, 1899: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, the Herald and Tribune, a newspaper that was, and still is, published in Jonesboro, brought brief news accounts to readers. There were a few advertisements also scattered among the news about area residents.  Some of the items and advertisements follow:  “A black horse mule, about 18 months old, missing since Tuesday, Oct. 24. Anyone knowing of the whereabouts will please notify me, and they will receive reward.” The notice was signed by Mrs. W. M. Grisham.
