Tuesday, July 11, 1775: Two hundred and fifty years ago today, was an important date during the American Revolutionary War. ”General George Washington issued general orders from his headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Benedict Arnold wrote a letter detailing the situation of the Northern Department army. Saturday, July 11, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that “Mrs. J. B. Roithner was the charming hostess to quite a number of society maids and matrons at a beautifully appointed tea at her home on West Holston avenue (sic for Avenue) on Tuesday afternoon, honoring Mrs. J. A. Henderson, of Los Angeles, California, who has been an attractive guest here for the past month.
