Wednesday, March 29, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, the Herald and Tribune published several short, informative pieces, as well as some brief advertisements. Some of each follow: “Archie Kirkpatrick is at home for a visit.”

“Capt. Tom A. Davis spent a day in this place last week.”

“Jonesboro Millinery Co’s. big opening on Monday, April 2.”

“Judge Hacker was in Elizabethton last Saturday on legal business.”

“It is said that wedding bells will soon be heard in Jonesboro. Let them ring.”
