Saturday, December 26, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that “Silkey Onks was shot and killed by Oscar Robinson in an altercation last night about 6 o’clock. The killing took place in the Philipp’s apartment building, located between Buffalo street (sic for Street) and the Southern Railroad. Robinson escaped and was at large late last night.
