Madison writes to Bradford, Scopes trial and more
Tuesday, July 18, 1775: Two hundred and fifty years ago today, James Madison penned the following letter to William Bradford; the original spelling and punctuation have been preserved.
“Philada. July [18, 1775]
“My dear Sir,
“I wrote to you last week by the post. Mr Smith gives me an opportunity of sending you a few more lines which friendship will not allow me to neglect.
