Sunday, July 2, 1775: Two hundred and fifty years ago today, “Washington arrived in Cambridge on July 2, 1775, two weeks after the Battle of Bunker Hill, and exactly a year before Congress would vote in favor of independence.” (Source: https://press.princeton.edu/)

Thursday, July 2, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that “Drawings by John A. Maxwell, of Johnson City, occupy a prominent space in the current issue of Collier’s Weekly, just received here, dated July 4th. Four sketches by Mr. Maxwell are used in illustration of the story, ‘This Way Out,’ one of the features of this issue of Collier’s.
