Saturday, March 10, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Knoxville Sentinel reported news with a dateline from Johnson City. Readers were advised that “The vote in this section of Washington county (sic for County) is about four to one in Brownlow’s favor. It is conservatively estimated that Brownlow will carry the county by about 600 majority. Judge Campbell will receive a credible vote, indicating he has made a good fight.
