Tuesday, August 17, 1926: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that “Lowell White, six, son of Rev. and Mrs. Robert E. White, 1206 East Holston avenue (sic for Avenue), was struck and knocked down by an automobile driven by Horace Lynbeer, of Erwin, between 6 and 7 oclock (sic for o’clock) Sunday evening, in front of his home.
