Tuesday, February 24, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle published sad news. Readers learned that “Remains of Mrs. W. C. Morrow, of 6060 West Poplar street (sic for Street), whose death occurred in a local hospital Saturday night, following the birth of a daughter, were taking to Marion, N. C., on Monday, where burial will occur. A short funeral service was conducted at the residence here on Monday morning, with Rev. E. J. Vance, pastor of the Watauga Avenue Presbyterian church (sic for Church), in charge.
