Thursday, April 12, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Comet reported several short news accounts of interest to their readers. Some of the news accounts are as follows: “Tuesday morning Mr. M. L. Beeler and Miss Lola Brown were quietly married at the Watauga avenue (sic for Avenue) residence of the bride in this city. Rev. J. C. Davidson officiated. The happy couple left on the vestibule for Mr. Beeler’s Grainger county (sic for County) home. The bridge is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Brown and is a splendid young woman and Mr. Beeler is to be congratulated.”
