Thursday, September 6, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Comet alerted readers about several short news items. Some of them included the following: “At Piney Flats, the 29th ult., Ralph, eldest son of Solomon S. Smalling, of Johnson City, aged eight years and ten months (died).”
