Thursday, March 29, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Comet reported several short news accounts of interest to local residents. Some of the news briefs were from Austin Springs, which was a community in rural Washington County in 1900. “The work on the DeVault bridge is still being continued, and will be finished in a few days. The Sunday School girls will be very much pleased with the bridge is finished, so that Mr. W. W. DeVault can come to church. They say it is very annoying to go to Sunday School and have no teacher. But of course the young girls always like to have a good looking young man for their teacher.”
