Thursday, June 28, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Comet reported several short news items of interest to readers. Some of the brief items were as follows: “Prof. S. C. Brown has returned from Knoxville.”

“Mrs. Robt. Graham is the guest of Mrs. A. B. Bowman this week.”

“J. D. Weaver is keeping in line by giving his home a coat of paint.”

“Editor Bell went to Philadelphia to see how presidents are nominated.”
