Yeggmen!
Monday, December 21, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Staff-news alerted readers that “Yeggmen breaking open the safe of the F. & M. Grocery Company on West Market and McClure streets (sic for Streets), early Sunday morning, or late during the night, made one of the largest hauls of money ever reported in the city, when they left with an amount of cash and checks estimated at $2,500 to $2,800. Police, now working on slender clues, expect to secure results in a short while.
