Monday, November 9, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Staff-News related “That business houses will close on Wednesday, Armistice Day, is the arrangement announced by Legion committees, who advise that the entire day, in order that every one may take part in the celebration planned. Drug stores and theaters will remain open, it is announced.
