Monday, October 12, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Staff-News reported exciting news about Johnson City. Readers learned that “An official increase in population of Johnson City, calculated by the Federal census department as of July 1, 1925, shows a total of 14,362, or an increase of 1,920 from the official census of 1920, which was 12,442.
