Friday, January 19, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Knoxville Sentinel reported news with a dateline from Johnson City. Readers learned that “A. B. Campbell, Rogersville, Tenn., A. S. Woodward, Knoxville, Tenn., and A. W. Boyles of Georgia, are at the Piedmont hotel (sic for Hotel).”
