Friday, March 9, 1900: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Bolivar Bulletin reported that “Congressman Brownlow, of the First Tennessee district (sic for District), has introduced a bill to congress (sic for Congress) seeking the appropriation of $150,000 with which to establish a soldiers’ home at Johnson City.”
