Friday, April 12, 1901: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, The Knoxville Sentinel reported news with a dateline from Johnson City. Readers learned that “A large lumber yard at Love’s station (sic for Station) was destroyed by fire Thursday. The depot, contents and three cars are said to have been burned. The cause of the fire is unknown.
