Palm Sunday Greetings!
Monday, April 13, 1925: One hundred years ago today, the Johnson City Staff-News reported news with a dateline from Washington, the date was April 12, which was Easter Sunday in that year. “A spring coat which has been a part of her wardrobe for some time was worn by Mrs. Coolidge to Easter services on Sunday, but her dress and hat were new to those that watched her come and go.
“The dress, one of several she bought for spring wear recently, was a very blond crepe ‘de chine, in the latest mode, with ruffles down the front. The coat was of blue silk with tan lining. Her hat was a black straw with deep pink roses on the side. She wore stockings to match her dress and black satin slippers.
“In choosing her old spring coat, Mrs. Coolidge maintained the precedent she set last East Sunday when she startled the church gores (sic for goers) by earing her old winter coat.
