Friday, October 2, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported that “Mr. J. A. Laws, of 104 East Myrtle avenue (sic for Avenue), underwent a successful operation Thursday morning at the Appalachian Hospital, for removal of his eye, which had become infected.”
