Lots of things happening in and around Johnson City
Friday, June 12, 1925: One hundred and twenty-five years ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported several short news accounts of interest to local citizens. Some of them were as follows: “Friends of Mrs. George Henson will be interested to know that she is recovering nicely from a serious illness at her home on South Roan St.”
“Mr. Grover C. Summers was a business visitor in Erwin Tuesday.”
“Miss Ruth Kite and Miss Dorothy Snavely are the uests (sic for guests) of Mrs. Fain Malone in Erwin.”
“Mrs. Frank Shell, who has been quite ill at the Appalachian hospital (sic for Hospital) is recoverin (sic for recovering) nicely from an operation.”
The Appalachian Hospital was a forerunner of Memorial Hospital, which was a forerunner of the Johnson City Medical Center.
