Friday, May 15, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Press-Chronicle reported several short news items pertaining to area residents. Among them were the following: “Mr. and Mrs. Morris Goldstein announce the birth of a son, Monday, the eleventh of May, at the Appalachian hospital (sic for Hospital).”
The Appalachian Hospital was a forerunner of Memorial Hospital, which was a forerunner of the Johnson City Medical Center.
“Miss Patricia Lee Patrick is announced as the newly arrived daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Patrick, born on May 11th, at the Appalachian hospital (sic).”
