Wednesday, February 4, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle reported extremely unusual and interesting news to the readers. “Grover Chase lost his cat. She was a valuable old Tabby, and has been increasing in the affections of the household for twelve long years. With his family, Mr. Chase had just moved to Jonson (sic for Johnson) City from downn (sic for down) in te (sic for the) second district, and the cat came along, riding in the rear of the automobile, comfortably wrapped – head and all – in a warm covering, to – wit; one tow sack, all bound ‘round with a woolen string.
