Wednesday, April 15, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Chronicle announced that “Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Reece will make their home in Butler, Tenn., the congressman announcing that he has just completed the purchase of the ‘old home place,’ in which the family lived for a number of years. Occupying the house as their home during the coming summer, Mr. and Mrs. Reece expect to spend the majority of their time in this section with a series of visits to various parts of the first district. Since the recent adjournment of Congress, Mr. and Mrs. Reece have beben (sic for been) staying in Johnson City the greater part of the time.
