Wednesday, March 11, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Staff-Times reported “So the story goes, it was upon a dark but not a stormy night, the the (sic) moon was on the wane. Returning from a function late in the evening, he and his wife stepped into their big car, drove home, backed the car in the garage with wonted nonchalantly gave a customary glance about the tonneau to see that every thing (sic for everything) was all right.
