Wednesday, January 14, 1925: A century ago today, according to the Johnson City Staff-News, “Robbery of the store of J. W. Braswell, on West Watauga avenue (sic for Avenue), between West Main and Hamilton streets (sic for Streets), was discovered shortly before (several indecipherable words) last night. (Several indecipherable words) indications that the act had been committed by some young boys. A check up of the stock showed that the articles taken consisted of four boxes of candy, and small quantities of apples, oranges and tangerines.
