Readers were informed that “The building committee of the M. E. church (sic for Church) is collecting material for the construction of a parsonage a (sic for at) the corner of Roan and Cherry streets (sic for Streets).”

“Several new buildings are being planned for erection in the city this summer.”

“The extension of the building of the Christian church (sic) is now in progress and will be completed at an early day.”

“W. O. Lipscomb, the contractor on the Ohio River & Charleston railway extension, is in the city to meet Mrs. Lipscomb and their children, who have just arrived from Gaffney, S. C.”
