Visitors to Johnson City, a tragic accident, the Hurstleigh Ball and more
Thursday, December 31, 1925: A century ago today, the Johnson City Staff-News reported several short news items of a social nature. Some of them are as follows: “Mr. and Mrs. M. Korff and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Strauss of New York City who are prominent visitors in the city, entertained Wednesday evening at the Hotel John Sevier with a dinner party. A delicious menu was served to Mr. and Mrs. Korff, Mr. and Mrs. Strauss and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. J. Worcester, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ring, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Swoyer, Mr. Harold Hunter, and Mr. Murweif of Germany.”
